Its August, so it was a hot day… like 100% humidity hot, but that didn’t matter. People tend to get agitated in the heat of summer, but Leigh Ann and Dan and all their guests were anything but.
Steve started at Roots Hair Salon in Brick with Leigh Ann and her girls before heading over to Dan’s place where the guys played roulette and took turns using a blow gun. I started over at Leigh Ann’s house for some detail shots before heading to the salon … and there were lots of details. A couple days before the wedding Leigh Ann emailed us to explain why she had so many red cardinals in her house. Her grandmother had passed away and the cardinals and African violet plants in her home were her mementos of her.
After the salon we went to Leigh Ann’s house. The power had been out all morning from storms the day before, but it came on just in time for her to play the CD Dan made for her. Dan and Leigh Ann have a DJ business, so he made a very elaborate CD complete with music, and his instructions to her on where to find her gift. Her gift was a beautiful coach bag that he had hidden in the drawer of her TV stand all week.
After their first look we headed over to Monmouth University to take some photos in Wilson Hall. If the building looks familiar to you, its probably because you recognize it as the mansion from the movie “Annie,” How awesome is that?
When we got to The English Manor, things calmed down a bit. Since Leigh Ann and Dan got all their photos done early, the only things left to do were to get married, and to party.
Then they got married, and their ceremony was incredible. Dan’s grandfather was the officiant and he had trouble holding back his tears.
Then the party started. I mentioned Dan is a DJ, well he’s also a teacher… they both are. The met teaching in the same school district. Needless to say there were lots of kids dancing during their reception and the party was insanely fun.
Thanks again Leigh Ann and Dan for having Steve and I as a part of your day. Best wishes to you both
